Choosing a Hypnotherapist

As a professional hypnotherapy practice, it's essential that our clients are assured of the best possible care, commitment and quality of service. We don't choose you - you choose us, so some points to consider when choosing any therapist are:
  • Has your hypnotherapist received well-rounded, professional and in-depth training rather than distance-learning or a short course (check the accreditations on his/her website or on their literature against the requirements of the registration society).
  • Does your hypnotherapist offer a free consultation prior to treatment? Whether by telephone, face-to-face or both it is essential that he or she understands your issues and that you feel comfortable and confident with your therapist.
  • How long has your hypnotherapist been in practice and have they had experience with your particular issue (do bear in mind that every situation is unique but an understanding may be helpful).
  • Does your hypnotherapist have regular 'continuous professional development' (CPD) to keep them up to date with new developments and enhance their skills.
  • Does your hypnotherapist participate in regular supervision* sessions to ensure they are offering the best possible service to clients.
  • If you have any questions, ask! Your hypnotherapist should be pleased to answer any queries or address any concerns.
*Supervision is essential for all therapists and counsellors. It is not training or testing, it's an ongoing commitment to developing best practice and enhancing their skills for the benefit of clients.
